How does SoundRiddle work?

The Game

SoundRiddle is a social game for 1 – 6 players which focusses on guessing sounds. Playing the game is easy; You hear a short audio fragment, see the amount of letters from the correct answer and get the game category to start with. The fewer hints you need to solve the puzzle, the more points you win and the higher you rise in the ranking. 

Basic rules
Every SoundRiddle is worth 100 points. You can have 3 guesses to guess the answer.  If you don’t know the answer, you can buy hints with the 100 points you can win. Depending on the type of hint you buy you can increase the audiofragment, unlock a letter of the answer, or unlock a piece of the picture provided. When in doubt, you can always ask your friends for advice on social media by sharing your SoundRiddle with them.

Your own SoundRiddle
You can create your own unique SoundRiddle using the app! Record the sound, take a picture which displays a hint, enter the answer and select a category in which your SoundRiddle belongs. You can edit your SoundRiddle entirely to your satisfaction before inviting your friends to solve it. 

Use your own created SoundRiddles as a fun and interactive way to share everyday and special events with your friends. If you think you have created a really great SoundRiddle, submit it to the SoundRiddle database so every SoundRiddle player can solve your SoundRiddle!

Main Screen

On the Main Screen you will find the following items:

  • Your total score and profile picture.
  • Your current games.
  • Hit the weel button to change your settings.
  • Hit the + button to start a new game.
  • The games you have already finished.

  
 

Game Screen

The Game Screen:

  • Each riddle is worth 100 points.
  • The word to guess is represented by a row of dashes.
  • You have three guesses to solve each SoundRiddle. 
  • Hints can be a letter, an extra audio fragment, or a piece of the picture.

   

Select Game Type

Select a game type:

  • Play a random game and win points to rise to the top of the leaderboards.
  • Select a category and play a game by yourself or together with friends.
  • Play a created game with your friends.
  • Create your own game.

  
  

Create a Game

Create your own SoundRiddle:
 

  • Define the answer, capture the moment (audio and picture) and select the game’s category. 
  • Invite friends to play your SoundRiddle.
  • Use the app to share your SoundRiddle with us. It might end up in the SoundRiddle database becoming playable for players all over the world. 

Chat with Friends

When you play a game with friends, you can chat with each other to solve the riddle together:

  • Hit the text button at the right top of the screen to chat with your team.
  • Discuss a strategy with your friend to solve the game.
  • All hints and answer suggestions will be put up for vote.
     

   
  
  

Participate in Challenges

On a regular basis Challenges will appear. Challenges are games provided by sponsors.

  • Keep an eye on Facebook, the app, and the website for updates on new challenges. 
  • Play the game.
  • The player or group of players who solves the Challenge first wins a prize!
